– Former Elite XC heavyweight champion Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva speaks out via Fighters Only magazine against the man who was perhaps the biggest attraction for the now defunct organization, Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson. The Brazilian giant claims that he and manager Alex Davis lobbied hard for a fight with the street brawler in 2008, but had no luck convincing the promoters to book the match. Apparently Silva, as the champ, resented playing second fiddle to the less experienced Slice during their time with the promotion. Restricted to fighting outside of the United States for the foreseeable future, perhaps Silva can find a Japanese promotion willing to put the fight together. That is, of course, assuming Kimbo and his team would or could even accept the fight, which seems like a long shot with him coming off the 14-second loss to Seth Petruzelli in October, as well as having to deal with the mess surrounding the ex-Elite XC fighter contracts.

After getting knocked out on national TV by Seth Petruzelli at EliteXC “Heat”, Kimbo Slice looks to make a comeback, not as a fighter, but as an announcer?

Kimbo Slice lands in Japan to serve as a guest announcer at K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 Finals on Saturday. Slice is expected to fight for K-1 in 2009 once his EliteXC contract gets straightened out.

Fighting and Entertainment Group (FEG) and HDNet are partnering once again to bring North American fans LIVE coverage of the K-1 World Grand Prix Final 2008 from the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan starting at 3:00am ET on Saturday, December 6.

Joining the broadcast team of Michael "The Voice" Schiavello, four-time K-1 WGP Champion Ernesto Hoost and FEG USA’s Mike Kogan will be none other than Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson.

Kimbo was invited by FEG and HDNet to be a guest commentator for K-1’s stateside debut.

FiELDS K-1 WGP 2008 Final, an 8-man knockout tournament for the coveted K-1 Grand Prix crown, features the world’s best heavyweight strikers including Moroccan/Dutch Bad Boy Badr Hari; legendary triple K-1 World Champion Peter Aerts; French monster Jerome LeBanner; Russian wonder Ruslan Karaev and two-time former champion Remy Bonjasky.

– SI.com, which incorrectly states that Elite XCs Kimbo Slice was fighting for a title, nominates the Miami street brawler for a “2008 Turkey of the Year.” Slice was pimped front and center by the now defunct organization because of his YouTube.com exploits. And when he went down against Seth Petruzelli in just 14 seconds back in October he ultimately took down the whole promotion — the “StandGate” controversy surrounding the main event was essentially its death knell. Ocho Cinco, Al Davis, Mark Cuban, Roger Clemens and Jeremy Shockey are some of the other athletes who made the 23-member list.

Just because he lost in 14 seconds to UFC washout and replacement fighter Seth Petruzelli and just because his biggest supporters, Elite XC, aren’t around anymore, doesn’t mean there isn’t still a market for Kimbo Slice.

Indeed, people are interested in his services, but it’s not as a fighter (not yet, anyway).

Perhaps this a little hard to believe, but Slice will make his Nickelodeon acting debut on “Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh,” which is set to premiere on the kid-friendly network on Friday, December 5 at 8 p.m. ET.

The Christmas special is a television movie based on the popular sitcom, which ran from January 2004 through September of 2007, about two step brothers who are complete opposites but forced to live with each other and become friends because of their parents’ marriage.

“Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh” will be the third television movie spin off from the series and the first since the show went off the air a little more than a year ago.

Kimbo will be play a character by the name of “Bludge” — a bully that struggles with how he should treat people yet somehow helps Drake and Josh keep a promise they made to a group of less fortunate children.

This gig is a far cry from punching people in the face for a living for the infamous street fighter turned professional mixed martial artist. But a fighter’s still gotta eat … this should keep the bread on the table for the time being.
