AFFLICTION WRAP UP AND JOHN’S BETTING RESULTS

AFFLICTION WRAP UP AND JOHN’S BETTING RESULTS

By John Gagne

Tonight we saw Fedor KO Arlovski in devastating fashion. While Josh Barnett took a little longer than expected to get the W. Is he ready for Fedor? After this performance, I would have to say no. “Baby Fedor” has turned out to be nothing more than hype. Failing to live up to his nickname. On the other hand we saw a great performance from Paul Buentello. This should be a sign to Affliction to step up the competition. Dany Lauzon dominated in his fight. I still hope for the Horodecki fight down the road. We also saw Rogerio Noguiera put on a great show against V-Mat. Sadly I think its safe to say, Sokoudjou has lost all potential to be a contender. At least he until he learns some submission defense. Upset of the night goes to my money making pick, Vitor Belfort. His vicious KO has propelled Vitor into the top ten for sure. I will go on a limb and say two things. First Vitor will get back in the UFC sometime in the next year. Second if Anderson Silva retires, I think if he makes it back to UFC he could be the middleweight champ. This obviously depends on the UFC’s interest in dealing with Vitor, and his ability to be consistently inconsistent.

My bets tonight went quite well for me. I won eight out of the eleven fights. Out of the three I lost I bet two. This makes me 15 for 21, an average of 71%. Over the last two MMA events, UFC 93 and Affliction “Day Of Reckoning.” Out of the six I lost I only bet three. Making my winning percentage 86%. I will look to hit the 90% mark tomorrow night with the WEC event. Check back for John’s picks and betting advice.
